Almost a year!

Shannen is almost one year old! He’s much more “talkative” and enjoys getting into everything Mommy doesn’t want him to. He can pull himself up but he hasn’t really tried to walk yet – I’m kind of glad for this!

Our household has many new changes recently, the biggest change is that I’ve gone back to work. I only worked part-time to begin with, so it’s not too bad, and thankfully my dad is helping out by taking care of Shannen during the overlap between Brent and I.

In the world of Craft, I’ve finished a couple new projects!

And this really cute Baby Dragon that I made was a huge hit! I absolutely love the pattern, and even though I had to purchase the pattern, when I showed it to Brent he was hooked, too!

Fabric Fetish

Hello. My name is Stephanie. I’m a fabriholic. Especially when I see a “Clearance,” or “$1.97″ sign above any bolts in mildly interesting colours and/or patterns.

It’s been 29 minutes and 36 seconds, since my last purchase. I-I just can’t help myself. I see a blue, purple or a pink in any shade and I just go bezerk! I don’t even think about it, I just snatch it up, buy it and then when I get home, the excitement wears off, and it turns into emptiness.

It’s just a metre or more of fabric. It’s not made into anything. In fact, I didn’t even have a plan when I bought it. I just liked the pattern, colour, interesting details.

I think they need to make pills for this sort of thing.

Projects

I’ve totally forgotten to post some of the projects I’ve completed over the past little while. One of the projects was for an April Swap at Craftster.org. I make a Sailormoon Amigurumi doll for my swap partner. I looooooved the doll so much, but I knew that I couldn’t keep it! XD I worked really hard on it, and even hand made the brooch out of scupley XD I think it’s my favourite project so far!

I’m planning on a couple more dolls to make, such as this Sailormoon one, mostly because tons of people have asked to see more! XD I want to make a Princess Serenity doll, and maybe some of the other Senshi. It shall be exciting, I’m not sure how I’m going to do their hair….

Anyway, I’ve completed some others things…

Crocheted headband in 100% wool! My fave color, turqouise! The pattern is from here. I made the small version.

I also sewed this bag, it’s a reversable tote. It’s very simple, but of course, I didn’t pay attention to the pattern very well, so I ended up messing part of it up, and having to redo it! #__#;;

Unfortunately I didn’t use stiff enough fabric, so it’s not exactly like I would have liked it to be. Tutorial/Pattern is here. I’ve been working on a few other things, such as some really cute, soft-pink 100% cotton leg warmers for a friend’s little girl! I finished the first legwarmer and am starting on the second! They are quite adorable, and when they’re done, I’ll post up the pattern and some pictures.

Crafting update

Well, I’ve been crafting most the weekend, putting off as much homework as possible! XD I like to stress myself out, really, it makes life interesting…>__< Anyway, I have yet to finish my Rainbow Gym-Sock IV. Why, you may ask, is it called as such? Well, the yarn is rainbow-ish, more red, really. And I tend to only knit it when I'm at the gym on the bike. And it's the fourth time I've ripped it out and started again. ^__^ Here's a lovely photo of my foot in the sock:

Anyway, that sock has been put on hold for a bit. I’m too lazy to go to the gym without my brother or someone with me. So, instead, I am working on Tricia’s baby blanket. Which is no longer knitted, instead it’s a big crochetted star! ^__^ It’s very adorable, I want one for myself! To top it off, Tricia has had her little baby boy early. His name is Austin Graham and he was born on the 11th of Feb. I haven’t heard anything about the baby shower yet, so I’m going to keep assuming that it’s in March, and just try to get the blanket done before then. It’s about halfway done now.

In other great news, I’ve taken up the art of “Sculpey.” Sculpey is fantastic, it makes me giggle like a little girl thinking about how cute everything is! I’ve been making some charms from a great tutorial by Oborochan. She is fantastic! Her charms are fantastic! And now my charms aren’t fantastic, but very very cute! Here are a few that are done, and some that are being worked on.

Two more are waiting to be glazed. I have a Giraffe and a Bunny that need glaze {update: seen glazed in the photo}. A kitty that needs a first coat of paint, an Usagi from Disgaea2 that needs more coats of white, and an ugly devil skull that I made for a friend, James, that needs more paint. Plus a little ball charm that I may or may not paint {update: is now an orange}. ^__^

Anyway, back to school work, I’ve deviated long enough….
